The 180 degree rule is important when filming as it affects
the continuity. Once a character is established on a certain side of the shot,
the camera can only stay on the same side of the line as it can disorientate
the viewer if you change it by making the characters appear on a different side.
You can only cross the line if you show the camera movement. If the characters switch positions at any
point during the shot you need to re-establish and orientate the viewer to the
right place by showing a wide shot.
